Stethoscope Ceremony
This is one of the first momentous events of your medical journey! As you don your stethoscope for the first time, embrace the excitement and dedication that will shape your path to becoming compassionate and skilled physicians.
Academy Day
You might’ve spent months asking 2T7s their experiences with each academy, mulling over the hospitals, the commutes, and the vibes. Well… now is the time to meet the academy you have been assigned to!!
More details on this event will be sent directly to you by your respective academy. TEAM NITRO does not run this event.
Board Game Night
Wow it’s been a hectic week. You’re tired, and you just want a chill night in. Well. we’ve got the place for you. Spend some time playing board games with your classmates and the 2T7s.
*The Dirty Bird chicken and waffles will be served for dinner.

You’ve had all the academic orientation sessions but you’re still a little overwhelmed/confused? Worry not! Team NITRO has just the guide for you. Learn all the sleek tips and trips to navigating all the different learning platforms, scheduling your time during the week, and so much more!
Academic Orientation #3
Get equipped to tackle not only first year, but the rest of your medical career with helpful information from faculty presenters.
Boat Formal
Enjoy an evening boat ride with your classmates along Toronto’s beautiful harbourfront. Dinner, music and good vibes will be served :).
Sponsorship Fair + Lunch
Orientation would not have been possible without all of our lovely sponsors. They would like to meet you (and also give you free stuff). Use this as an opportunity to meet our sponsors, and find out how they can help you. Afterwards, enjoy your choice of a Big Smoke Burger for lunch.
LOC Panel
Line of credits are a BIG topic of conversation for incoming students… and for the banks. Trust us, they all want your business, so we’re brining all the big banks to discuss everything they can offer you—now and for the rest of your career.
Academic Orientation #2
Kicking off Day 3, come learn about your governing student bodies (MedSoc and Student Council), as well as your provincial and national representative student bodies (OMA & CFMS)!
We’ll also have an academic workshop led by faculty, on tips and tricks on navigating studying in med school and how that may differ from your prior studies.
Night Social/Rest & Relax
Night Social: BRING THE ENERGY TO THIS EVENT. We want to see everyone’s BEST dance movies at this social — absolutely no slacking. Appetizers & Finger Food will be provided.
Dress code: cocktail/semi-formal/something nice!
Rest & Relax: If you would like a more laid back, dry event option, come and join the 2T7s in MSB (room# tbd) for a rest & relax night. Food and refreshments will be provided :).
MED Olympics
Another medicine CLASSIC. Get ready to play games you’ve never heard of before, but never want to forget. Winning teams will be rewarded :)
* Lunch will be provided.
Deans' Breakfast
A true UofT Tradition. Every year students gather in Burwash Hall & enjoy breakfast with Temerty Medicine Faculty interspersed among them. In addition, speeches will be given by the Dean, an other specially proclaimed guests. A surprise from alumni is also offered towards the end of every breakfast :).

Welcome Picnic
With all that new information and time indoors, it’s time to enjoy the sun and nature at Christie Pits Park! Get ready to have some heart to hearts with the 2T7s and participate in some fun activities with your newly made friends!
*Pizza dinner will be served.
Academic Orientation #1
Academics can be a nerve-wracking aspect of starting medical school! You probably have a lot of questions! What courses am I taking? How many exams does UofT have? What does ‘CBL’ stand for? Here you’ll get a TLDR of what to expect for your first year & first year courses.
*Lunch will be provided prior to this event.
Registration/Backpack Pickup & Welcome Ceremony
Come to the student commons and pick-up your CMA backpack— your most trusted item for the next year! Along with your backpack you’ll be receiving lots of UofT Temerty branded swag, and get to interact with some of this year’s sponsors.
After, hear from keynote speakers from the Faculty of Medicine, and other special guests — they’re all excited to welcome you!
